Old English Porter

A downloadable recipe to home brew your own batch of beer. Check your email after purchase is complete for download link.

Porter, often called the Granddaddy of Stout, was the first industrially produced ale. Usually three or more types of beers or “threads” would be blended together and served. Porter replaced these threads with one brew that was mass produced and served primarily to the working class (who were mainly “Porters”). ¬†Pretty much everything ended up in the porters, from herbs and spices to medicines, hallucinogenics, and out right poison (sorry – our kits are just grain and hops). Goes well with vanilla, chocolate, fruits, spice, and coffee.
